A careful, in-person review of employment eligibility documents and completion of Section 2 on behalf of your employer.
How the appointment works
Form I-9 is the federal form employers use to verify a new employee’s identity and authorization to work in the United States. With your employer’s designation, Solace Notary can act as its authorized representative: we examine the documents you choose to present in person, record their details, and complete, sign, and date Section 2 for the employer.
This is not a notarial act. We do not notarize Form I-9, affix a notary seal, or sign as a notary public. The $45 charge is for authorized-representative assistance, not a Texas notary fee.
Before we meet
Confirm employer authorization
Ask your employer to designate us as its authorized representative for Section 2 and provide its form or instructions, including how to return the completed form. The employer remains responsible for the Form I-9 process.
Complete your Section 1
After accepting the job offer, fill out, sign, and date Section 1 yourself no later than your first day of work for pay. Include your personal details and employment-status attestation; if a preparer or translator helps, their portion must also be completed.
Bring your original, acceptable, unexpired documents (or a qualifying receipt): either one List A document, or one List B document together with one List C document. You choose which acceptable documents to present; we do not select them for you. Section 2 is generally due within three business days of your first day of work for pay, or on that first day for a job lasting fewer than three days.
Review the current USCIS Lists of Acceptable Documents and your employer’s instructions before your appointment. This in-person service is separate from Remote Online Notarization and does not perform E-Verify for an employer.
