Do you perform notarizations across all Texas counties?

Yes. As Texas Notaries Public, we have statewide jurisdiction and are legally authorized to perform in-person or remote online notarial acts anywhere within the state of Texas.

Can you notarize documents issued from or going to another state?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can notarize paperwork originating from or heading to any U.S. state, provided the notarization takes place while we are physically operating within our jurisdiction in Texas, or via Remote Online Notarization.

What types of documents can Solace Notary notarize?

Accepted Answer

We handle general notary work as well as real estate and loan signings. Common documents include acknowledgments and jurats; affidavits and sworn statements; powers of attorney and healthcare directives; wills, trusts, and estate-planning documents; adoption and family consent documents; contracts and business agreements; financial records; and property deeds.

What documents are you unable to notarize or copy-certify?

We cannot notarize or copy-certify vital records and public recordable documents such as birth, death, or marriage certificates, divorce decrees, or court records. We also cannot notarize documents with white-out or uninitialed alterations, incomplete documents, or signings involving incapacity, intoxication, or coercion.

What do I need to prepare before my notary appointment?

Complete your paperwork except for signature and date lines that must be completed before the notary. Have all signers present with valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID. Arrange required witnesses, or tell us in advance if you need witness support.

What forms of identification are accepted?

Accepted Answer

Bring an unexpired, government-issued photo ID containing a signature, such as a state driver’s license or ID, U.S. passport or passport card, U.S. military ID, Permanent Resident or Alien Registration Card, or Inmate ID. Social Security cards, school or work badges, credit cards, and photo or digital copies are not accepted. Current foreign passports are accepted in Texas only for documents related to residential real estate transactions.

What if a signer does not have a valid photo ID?

If an unexpired government photo ID is unavailable, identity must be established through the notary’s personal knowledge or the sworn oath of a credible witness who personally knows both the signer and the notary.

Can Solace Notary advise me on document content or tell me which notary certificate to use?

Accepted Answer

No. We are not licensed attorneys and cannot advise on legal forms, contract clauses, or select a notary certificate. If your document lacks a notary block, you may select from standard templates or consult the attorney, lender, or organization requesting the document.

Can a notarization be performed over a phone call?

Accepted Answer

No. Texas law requires every signer to personally appear before the notary, either physically in person or visually in real time through an approved Remote Online Notarization platform.

Is Remote Online Notarization legal and secure?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Texas has permanent RON laws. Approved platforms use multi-factor identity checks, credential analysis, encrypted audio-video recordings, and tamper-evident digital seals.

What do I need for an online notary appointment?

Accepted Answer

You need a stable internet connection, a computer or smartphone with a working camera and microphone, valid government-issued photo ID, and your document in PDF format.

Can I use Remote Online Notarization if I am outside of the United States?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You may sign from anywhere in the world when the notary is commissioned in Texas for RON and you meet the platform’s identity-verification and document-eligibility requirements.

Do your documents require witnesses?

Accepted Answer

Some documents do. You may bring your own witnesses at no charge. Witnesses must be at least 18 years old, of sound mind, possess valid photo ID, and be disinterested — meaning they are not named in the document, are not benefiting financially, and are not direct family members or beneficiaries.

Can you provide witnesses if I can’t bring my own?

Yes. If you are unable to provide witnesses, let us know when booking. We can coordinate independent witnesses to attend your appointment for $25 per witness, subject to advance notice and schedule availability.
